Spring 08 Sweep A Great Success

Congratulations to the more than 800 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves on April 19th to clean up the litter and trash from the Buffalo and Niagara watersheds. These stewards of our rivers removed an estimated 60,000 lbs. of trash. Altogether 31 sites were covered including over a mile stretch of the Buffalo River in south Buffalo and the entire aboveground stretch of Scajaquada Creek in the City of Buffalo. 2008 Autumn Beach Sweep - Volunteers Needed

September 20, 2008

Site Captains and general volunteers are needed to remove trash from more than 30 sites in the Buffalo and Niagara watersheds. From Tonawanda to West Seneca, there is a site near you. See the list of potential cleanup sites below. RIVERKEEPER will provide all the coordination details, gloves, trash bags, and other materials that you need!

You MUST register before going to a cleanup site to insure that the site will be active. Register now. A waiver form will be required. For volunteers under the age of 18, it must be signed by a parent or guardian. To fill this out ahead of time, please click here.
